Coming up with worldwide vacation ideas can be downright
overwhelming. The world is a huge place. I know that there've been lots
of times that rather than strike out and try a new place, I'll feel the
urge to keep going back to the same places over and over again. Living
in America, it's easy for me to stay in the US (and there is plenty to
see and do here!) but don't forget, there is adventure to be had the
world over and it's a lot easier and cheaper to get there than it ever
was before! Are you looking for an elegant European holiday? Or maybe
you want some ideas for ways to see Europe on the cheap and still get
the most of it. Over the past few years, there has been incredible
development all over Europe, but especially in Eastern Europe. Looking
for an Adventure? How about White Water rafting in Bosnia? Or, stoke
the fires of your imagination and explore Romania and see the castle of
Vlad Tepes, the real life inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula. Even
more European vacation ideas are down below.
For more worldwide vacation ideas, how about North America? There's no shortage of United States vacation ideas, even leaving aside the major tourist sites of New York, LA, Washington, and San Francisco (Of, course there's plenty of special things to do there that you might not have thought of!) Explore the Amish way of life in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Drive along the green rolling hills, stop at an Amish dairy farm for farm-fresh ice-cream. Even have dinner with an Amish family! Throw in Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean, and you might never leave the western hemisphere again with with everything that there is to do!
From Israel and Turkey in the east to Japan and Indonesia in the west, Asia is a huge continent with a wealth of suggestions for worldwide vacation ideas. Ever dream of combining paint-ball and a water balloon fights? Get to India for Holi and literally paint the town! All over India, people celebrate by dumping special paint on friend and stranger alike! Make sure that you wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Where else do you want to go?
Africa. No list of worldwide vacation ideas would be complete without mentioning Africa. Photography lovers should not miss the Annual Month of Photography in Cape Town, South Africa. Exhibits are set up all over the city and many are free to the public. More African ideas and wonderful places to visit.
South America: Llamas, Gauchos, Samba and so much more. Looking for unique vacation ideas? How about spending a few days in a hotel built on stilts in the Amazon rainforest of Brazil? I'll never forget when a monkey stole my dad's beer...and our sunscreen...and my sister's sunglasses. You can even catch and eat your own piranha fish. Much better than doing it the other way around! What else can you do in South America?
Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands are so many people's dream of a world vacation ideas paradise. Far away from almost everywhere, there's no doubt that these places are worth the long flights. Sydney, Australia is a wonderfully kid-friendly city. My family and I still laugh when we remember how I hopped after a kangaroo at the zoo.

Seven Hours in Prague
In 2008, I got the chance to visit Prague. I was living in Israel at the time and decided to take a holiday vacation to Ireland. On my way back, I was given the option of a 1-hour or a 7-hour layover in the Czech Republic. Having never been to the Czech republic, I jumped at the opportunity. What better way to find out if a longer trip would be worth the trouble? Continue Reading Seven Hours in Prague

If you're looking for an interesting summer event, there's one that takes place only every five years in Amsterdam, The Netherlands - and if you can find your way to getting over there this coming summer (specifically August 19-23, 2010), you'll be right on time for the eighth one. This is what is known as "Sail Amsterdam" and is a display of ships of all shape and kind - especially antique tall ones - from all over the world.

Father Son Bonding Washington DC
As a World War II veteran, my father really wanted to start the monument tour with the memorial to honor the men who risked their lives in the last World War. In fact, it’s all he’d been talking about since it opened in 2004. If you haven’t been, you owe it to yourself to see for yourself this spectacular achievement.

Father-Son Fishing: Legacy Lodge
Dad and I just got back from the best fishing trip ever. We went to Legacy Lodge in British Columbia. It was so beautiful there, and the fishing was outstanding. Carved into the rugged coastline of BC, it's so remote and serene. Situated in the protected waters of Rivers Inlet, Legacy offers some of the best sport fishing everywhere, mixing it rather handily with all the comforts of home.

This is a journey that I made with my own dad after he retired. It was something that he requested we do because he’d always wanted to visit this area. Although when people think of Virginia, images of Virginia Beach tend to come to mind, this is an altogether different kind of vacation. Lying on a beach is nice and has its place, but after you’re done, there aren’t memories to last a lifetime. This particular trip that I took my father on, he continues to rave to his friends about, so I think that it was as indelible for him as it was for me.
Adventure travelers looking for a truly unique experience must head to Daecheon Beach in Boryeong, South Korea. Every July, thousands of ex-pats and locals flock to this little-known town to get dirty at its annual Boryeong Mud Festival. That’s right, a festival celebrating mud and all things that come from it. If you’re envisioning a relaxing mud bath in a classy spa, think again. This festival is all about the party atmosphere. Take giant mud pits, add plenty of strangers, and stir well.
